ABOUT ME

Mobile Image copy copy.jpg

I have a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications .... PW mentor... 7 years critiquing multiple manuscripts per year...

What's your editing style? I believe that honesty is the best policy. I will be open and honest about your work, but I will deliver all criticism kindly and constructively. I will also help you brainstorm ideas for trouble spots and give you suggestions whenever possible. I will also make notes of your strengths and things that I like/enjoy as a reader. I will be thorough and in-depth and do my very best to give you direct and specific feedback that you can work with.

What's your turnaround time? It depends on the nature of the project, but I aim to complete full manuscript critiques in 2-3 weeks; small critiques within 1 week.

FAQ & POLICIES

Payment Policy: All payments are processed through PayPal. Services under $150 must be paid in full up front in order to secure booking. A 50% deposit may be used as a down payment to secure booking for all services $150 or over. The final 50% must be paid upon completion of the service in order to receive the final product. An invoice will be sent via email for each booked service.

Word Count Policy: When booking, I will ask you for your total word count in order to invoice you. It's okay to make an estimate, but please understand that if your manuscript falls below your estimate, you will still be expected to pay for the word count you gave at booking. If your word count is more than estimated, you will need to pay the difference on the final invoice.

  • Example: If you book a full critique at 50,000 but you submit it to me and it's only 40,000, you will still be expected to pay for a 50k critique. If you book a full critique at 50K and you submit your manuscript at 70K, you will simply pay for the additional words on your final invoice.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. For smaller critiques, your payment is refundable up until the day I start working on it. After that, it is nonrefundable. For full manuscripts, your money is fully refundable as long as you cancel prior to two weeks in advance. If you cancel less than two weeks in advance, there is a 20% cancellation fee. This is due to the fact that these projects are booked months in advance and it can be difficult to fill a last minute vacancy.

Do you offer sample critiques? Yes! But only for those who are booking a full manuscript critique. I will do a 3-page sample edit. It's important to make sure that you're comfortable with my editing style before proceeding with booking.

What is your turnaround time? Depending on the nature of the project, I aim to complete full manuscript critiques in 2-3 weeks, and small critiques within 1 week.

What format should my manuscript be in? Please send your MS as a .doc or .docx file. I use Word and track changes to make the edits. Also, your MS needs to be in the traditional MS format: Times New Roman, Size 12; double spaced.
